Learning about Indian Mudras, hand positions or gestures that are full of meaning and expression, I found that they are used as seals for particular energies. These shapes and others have become my building blocks to create larger more complex forms and compositions, inspired both by the meanings and expressions inherent in each gesture. Each of the pieces is made of digitally cut adhesive vinyl and adhesive papers, composed of many repeated pieces. They have been framed in acrylic, mounted on a non-stick release paper, and could potentially be taken out of its frame and adhered to another surface. I had the opportunity to show a collection of 50 compositions for the first time at a group show in Kyoto, Japan in December 2015.
